FAQs
What happens on the trip?
Expect an unbelievable week building friendships in the most beautiful atmosphere of the Rocky Mountains with other Aggie Catholics! Whitewater rafting, mountain hiking, hot springs, ultimate frisbee, campfires, camping, daily mass on the mountain and personal and group prayer are all on the list of adventure.
Where do we stay?
We have booked a group campsite with a pavilion and bathrooms in the heart of the Carson National Forest. We have access to town but will not have amenities such as WiFi, electricity or running water. In short, we’re remote, but not TOO remote. We are basically “car camping” in the middle of the mountains 20 minutes from town.
List of stuff you'd need
A list of personal items can be found below. Many items can be rented or borrowed for a minimal or no cost.
Cost
$700. This includes a 100% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $100, and 3 payments of $200.
Included in trip: All transportation, campsite, entrance fees, experiences and 12 meals
NOT included: 8 meals in town and while “on the road”, and any added “lake day adventure” fees. The lake is free, but bikes and paddle boards are extra. You’ll also need your own “Personal gear”. See list below.
Payments
$100 upon registration, $200 Jan.1, March 1, May 1. Visit here to pay.
Dropping
To drop from the trip, participants will loose the amount according to the fee schedule. Ex. Feb drop would cost $300
How do we get there?
Students depart from St. Mary’s in rented trucks and SUV’s driven by Frassati team leaders. There is an optional Fort Worth pickup/drop off for those that do not want to drive down to College Station. No other arrangements for pick up or drop off will be permitted including extended trips, airports, parent pickups in other locations, or students meeting us at camp.
How physically fit should I be?
Participants should be somewhat physically fit… after all, we hike mountains in very high altitude.
How many spots?
