John 15
We provide a spiritual community for incoming college freshmen throughout their first year of college by focusing on the teachings found in John 15.
What is John 15?
John 15 is a community at St. Mary's, designed specifically for freshmen. If you're looking for a way to get "plugged in" to the faith community at St. Mary's but don't know where to start, you're looking in the right place! Freshman year can be quite the adventure for college students, which makes it so important to stay grounded in your faith and look for opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ. John 15 meets on Thursday nights at 7 PM in the Event Center (in the JPII addition).
Community
Freshman year can be quite the adventure for college students, which makes it so important to stay grounded in your faith and look for opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ. John 15 is all about forming an intentional community for students to journey through freshman year together, with the support of upperclassmen. This community will encourage you, challenge you, and invite you to grow in your faith with your friends.
Formation
Christ gave us a mind-blowing spiritual gift through His Gospels! And the Gospel of John is especially full of insight into what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Throughout the year, we will be journeying through the 15th chapter of John's Gospel, which focuses on the importance of staying rooted in Christ and remaining in Him. Formation includes our fun, prayer-filled Thursday night meetings, Rosary groups on campus, attending daily Mass and Confession, and so much more.
