St. Mary's Aggies Promoting Life (SMAPL)

Mission Statement

To promote, through education and service, an understanding of the dignity of human life, from conception to natural death, and an unconditional love for all people, made in the image of God.

--------------------

St. Mary's Aggies Promoting Life (SMAPL) seeks to connect our parish with the Church’s mission to “instill respect for human life at all stages and to bring about a conversion of heart and mind for all to be open to God’s special gift of life.” SMAPL serves to raise awareness, educate, minister, and encourage prayerfulness among the faithful through Respect Life Month (Oct.), Pro-Life Masses, 40 Days for Life, Prayer Vigils outside the Bryan Planned Parenthood, Rosaries for Mercy, and Pro-Life speakers and workshops. The committee encourages people to respond to this information through support of the local pro-life groups, the Good Samaritan Gabriel Project Life Center, annual Pro-Life day at the Capitol, drives to collect baby items for families in need, participation in the annual baby bank collection and angel tree, and letter-writing campaigns that seek to ensure that our laws are based on a respect for life from conception to natural death.

SMAPL meets every other Tuesday of the month. Meetings are at 6:30 PM in St. Mary's Room 204.
