Adoration is a form of worship and devotion to Jesus Christ, present in the consecrated host. Christians around the world have worshiped and prayed in this way for at least 750 years.
Adoration for the Fall will not start until all the hours are covered.
St. Mary's has Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Hannigan Chapel during the fall, summer and spring semesters. Sign-ups will begin August 28th and adoration will begin once all the slots are filled. Click here for our complete sign-up schedule. Choose to give some time to the Lord this school year.
Adoration hours :
Monday 8:00am - 8:00pm
Tuesday - Thursday 8:00am - 10:00pm
Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm
(There will be no Adoration from 5:00pm to 6:15pm, Monday to Thursday, because Mass will be celebrated in the Main Church)
Adoration is open to anyone. Please maintain a disposition of silence and reverence in the chapel.
Guardians of the Eucharist
So that the Blessed Sacrament will never be abandoned, St. Mary's has an Adoration team known as the Guardians of the Eucharist. Guardians commit to one hour each week of prayer in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Anyone who is interested in becoming a Guardian can contact one of the Adoration Coordinators.
There will be members of the Adoration team monitoring sign ups for the Fall semester after all daily Masses and Sunday Masses beginning on August 28th. Please feel free to sign up at anytime at the Adoration table by the front desk in the Student Center as well.
A mandatory training meeting will be held for those who have signed up to be a Guardian of the Eucharist. It will be on September 12th (Sunday) at 12:15pm and 8:15pm in the Hannigan Chapel. Please come to the training as you will receive important information about Adoration at St.Mary's as well as what you can do to find a substitute, or what to do if the Adorer after you is not there on time.
