If you are newly engaged and looking for information on preparing to for your marriage in the Catholic Church then you have come to the right place. St Mary’s offers a variety of opportunities to prepare for and enrich existing marriages. The following website will help outline the process of marriage preparation required by St. Mary’s. The following initial steps will need to be followed for all couples. Please follow the links provided for further details.
Step one
Make sure you give yourself a minimum of 6 month for the marriage preparation process (from the first meeting with the priest or deacon to the marriage date).

Obtain a pair of the Sponsor Couple workbooks For Better & For Ever. The workbooks are obtained at the front desk of St Mary’s Student Center for $20.00 for the set.

On Page 7 of this work book you will find outlined what you will need to do before your first meeting with the priest or deacon*
Step Three
Once you have completed the a steps outlined in page 7 of the work book call St. Mary’s and set up a time for your initial visit. At this initial meeting the Priest or Deacon will explain the marriage preparation process and to outline your specific “Marriage Preparation Checklist.”

* On page 11 of this workbook you are instructed to obtain a newly issued copy of your Baptismal record. This step should be delayed until instructed to by the priest or deacon as the copy of the record needs to be dated within 6 months of the wedding.
